Camden’s Cabinet recently agreed for Camden Living, a wholly council controlled
company to be set up to make sure homes built through the Community Investment
Programme (CIP) are affordable to residents.
These homes will be rented at a cost above social rent but below market value. This will
improve housing opportunities for residents who can’t afford private rents but who are unlikely to qualify for housing by the Council.
This offer will help give residents the opportunity to be able to afford to stay in Camden.
The first set of flats that will be acquired through Camden Living will be 52 flats from Maiden Lane, currently earmarked for shared ownership sale, they will be let at intermediate rent in summer 2017.
